A couple of months ago, at the height of the pandemic, when the entire country was scrambling for rapid tests and our factories were working around the clock to meet demands, we decided we can and should do more to support those in need; as a company, and as individuals.

So we set up an internal charity mechanism. Every Intrivo employee got 200 On/Go test kits, 400 total tests, “to their name” to donate to a charity of their choice.

There was a need and we had the means to help. While tests were ‘flying off the shelves’ we had to consider those who couldn’t get their hands on tests — those who didn’t have the means to purchase them or didn’t have the insurance to cover them.

It was heartwarming to see how our employees embraced this initiative enthusiastically and were genuinely thrilled for the opportunity to donate to a charity they chose.

We’ve asked some of them to share the charity organization they chose, and why they decided on it. Here are their replies.

Zak donated to Chai Lifeline

“I saw firsthand how Chai Lifeline positively impacted the lives of families with children with serious illnesses so I jumped at the opportunity to donate On/Go tests that would help this incredible organization.”

David donated to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary

“I visited Best Friends Animal Sanctuary's headquarters in Utah years ago with my girlfriend and was amazed at their organization. They house thousands of rescue animals, provide adoption services in major cities in the United States, are involved in research and medical care for animals while being the largest no-kill shelter in the country. They rely on the work of hundreds of dedicated animal loving volunteers to do the work that they do, so I thought they would be a great candidate for our Giving Back Initiative.”

Miguel donated to Pillar Care Continuum

“The charity I chose is Pillar Care Continuum, formerly known as Cerebral Palsy of New Jersey. I decided on this charity because I have a brother with cerebral palsy who lives in one of their homes in New Jersey. A lot of people visit or pick up their family or do charity work in these homes so I wanted to make sure that people have a way to safely visit their family members during the pandemic. Pillar Care Continuum was very appreciative of the tests and echoed the same sentiments I had about keeping adults with disabilities safe. It makes me really happy knowing we were able to provide tests to this group and give them the peace of mind they need to keep themselves and loved ones safe.”

It was a humbling experience for all of us, to be able to give back, to help those in need. We are privileged and grateful to have had the opportunity to donate to our favorite charities.
